In general, it is recommended that you have at least a 50-100% battery level before starting a backup. If you have a large number of photos to back up, it is better to have your phone fully charged. If your battery level drops to a low level while backing up, you can cancel the backup and start again after the device has been charged to 50% or higher battery level. Stopping the backup when your battery level is too low is like "pausing" the backup. Once you've recharged your phone's battery, you can start backup again; the app will do a full search again but will carry on backing up where it left off.
This backup is taking too long!
Your first backup will likely include hundreds, if not thousands, of photos and videos. This can certainly take some time to complete. Once the initial backup is complete, future backups should not take nearly as long and should not drain the battery. Just use Picture Keeper often to keep your pictures backed up, and keep the time needed to complete the backup to a minimum. Don't risk losing your pictures or filling up your phone again simply because you waited too long to back them up. Follow these steps:
- Open the Picture Keeper Connect app and start a backup.
- If the mobile device's battery level gets too low, the backup will automatically stop.
- Safely eject the Picture Keeper drive.
- Charge the mobile device's battery.
- Tap the "Resume Backup" button. Your backup will continue where it previously left off.
