Are you having issues related to backing up files stored in your OneDrive? If so, the "Files On-Demand" OneDrive setting may be to blame. On a Mac, you can't turn Files On-Demand off, but you can have OneDrive keep your files on your Mac instead (see Microsoft's OneDrive Files On-Demand for Mac). Please follow these steps:
How to keep your OneDrive files on your Mac
- In Finder, open your OneDrive folder and select all the files and folders in it (press Command-A).
- Right-click the selection and choose Always Keep on This Device. The files will take up space on your Mac, so make sure it has enough room for all of them.
- Wait until all the files are downloaded to your Mac, and then run the backup again.
I hope this helps! For further help with Microsoft OneDrive, you can find Microsoft's support article for how to download files from OneDrive here, or you can contact Microsoft support.
