Picture Keeper Pro SSD will use one of two unique modes in order to back up files from your phone or tablet, which is explained in greater detail here. Typically, Picture Keeper Pro SSD can connect directly to, and back up from your Android device, if it connects via USB-C:
In some rare cases, Picture Keeper Pro SSD may not be detected while connected to your Android device. Additionally, for the sake of portability, some users prefer to leave their Picture Keeper Pro SSD at home, finding it easier to back up their files remotely, and then complete the process later. Whatever the reason, with Manual Backup Mode enabled, your phone or tablet will temporarily save any new files to your Picture Keeper account as you run the backup in the mobile app. Then, when you're ready, and within 30 days of completing the backup from your Android device, you'll just need to complete the process within the computer app.
This guide will show you how to enable Manual Backup Mode. Before getting started, make sure Android is up to date on your phone or tablet, and if you haven't already, download the Picture Keeper Connect app from the App Store and open it.
- Tap Settings in the bottom right corner:
- Tap Advanced Options:
- Turn the toggle on next to Manual Backup Mode:
- Tap UNDERSTOOD:
- The app should refresh and load back to the Home screen, where you can tap Start Backup to get started:
- Use this Getting Started guide for help with next steps.
