“USB-C devices only”: the Pro SSD connects directly to iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Amazon Fire devices that have a USB-C port. Devices with a Lightning or Micro-USB port are still supported through Manual Backup Mode, which uses a Windows or Mac computer to complete the backup (see Why does Picture Keeper Pro need to use my computer to backup my phone?). On a Lightning iPhone or iPad, the app switches to Manual Backup Mode automatically: start the backup in the app, then finish it on a computer. On a Micro-USB Android device, you'll usually need to turn Manual Backup Mode on first.
