This guide will show you how to use our Repair Tool to update and repair your Picture Keeper software using your PC. Unless a full erase and reformat is needed, Repair Tool should only be necessary if you're running a version of Windows older than 10, and only in one of these two circumstances:
- You're running Windows 7 or 8, and the LaunchPictureKeeper app won't open.
-- Windows 10 and above should install the Microsoft App Store version to resolve this issue.
-- Repair Tool can otherwise help with this issue for users running older versions of Windows.
- You're running Windows XP or Vista and need to install Version 4 of the Picture Keeper software.
-- Version 4 is an older version of the Picture Keeper software.
-- The most up-to-date versions no longer support XP or Vista.
First, connect your Picture Keeper to your Windows computer, but do not open the Picture Keeper app. Then follow the steps below:
- Click this link to download the Repair Tool
- Find the "RepairTool" file in your Downloads folder, and double click to open the Repair Tool
-
Click Find Drive
-
Click Start Repair
-
The Repair Tool will let you know when the repair process is complete. Be sure to open the 'LaunchPictureKeeper' app on the drive to use your Picture Keeper moving forward. Following the steps outlined in this guide will not erase any of the files stored on your Picture Keeper, but this is also not a guarantee to regain access to files that may have been inaccessible prior to running the Repair Tool.
