This guide will show you how to install and open the Picture Keeper app on your Mac. There are a few options for using the app, so we'll go over each below. If you're using an older version of Mac, you may need Option 2 or Option 3. For the vast majority of users, however, Option 1 is likely all you'll need.
OPTION 1: INSTALLING FROM THE MAC APP STORE
This version of the Picture Keeper app works with macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or higher. Follow the steps below to get started:
- Click this link to open the Mac App Store to the Picture Keeper app page.
- Click either Open App Store or View in Mac App Store:
- Click Get:
- Click Install:
- Enter your password if prompted, and then wait for the app to install:
- Click Open:
- Once you're in the app, use the App Setup guide linked at the top.
OPTION 2: USING THE APP INSTALLED ON THE PICTURE KEEPER
This version of the Picture Keeper app works with macOS 10.11 (El Capitan) or higher. If you're running macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or earlier, or you had trouble installing the Mac App Store version, follow the steps below to get started:

Click the Finder
icon in your Dock to open a Finder window.
- Click PKBACKUP on the left:
- Double-click PictureKeeperForMac to open the app:
- Once you're in the app, use the App Setup guide linked at the top.
OPTION 3: USING PICTURE KEEPER V4 FOR MAVERICKS AND YOSEMITE
This version of the Picture Keeper app works with macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and 10.10 (Yosemite). Follow the steps below to get started:

icon in your Dock to open a Finder window.
- Click PKBACKUP on the left:
- Click to open the "Picture Keeper" folder:
- Scroll down and double-click PictureKeeperForMacV4 to open the app:
- Once you're in the app, use the App Setup guide linked at the top.
