While attempting to grant access to the Picture Keeper drive during setup, some users may see a screen with an hourglass on their Android phone, stating that it "can't load content at the moment":
Unfortunately, this is actually an Android system bug, which affects any drive you're attempting to grant access to - not just Picture Keeper. Here are a few initial troubleshooting steps you could try:
-
Restart your Android device
- This may not resolve the issue, but it's the least invasive step, and is therefore a great place to start
-
Factory reset your Android device
- This option will erase your phone, but may resolve the issue
- If you'd like some help with this step, you can follow along with this video tutorial.
- Contact the manufacturer of your Android device
- This is technically an issue they should be able to better assist you with
- Replace or upgrade your Android device
- You can confirm that your Picture Keeper works as expected by trying it with a different Android phone, even if the other phone is the exact same model
HOURGLASS WORKAROUND METHOD
If you're not willing to factory reset your phone, we do have a potential workaround you can try to allow you to get your important pictures safely backed up. This method will still utilize the Picture Keeper apps to back up your pictures, however, it also adds an extra step to the backup process, requires the use of a computer, and some settings will need to be adjusted.
- The first step is to switch your selected product to Picture Keeper Pro SSD. Use this guide for help changing this selection.
- Next, you'll need to enable a feature called Manual Backup Mode. Use this guide for help enabling this mode of backup.
- Once the above settings are changed, you should be able to reach the Home screen, where you'll see a Start Backup button (or Resume Backup if you're returning for subsequent backups). Tap that button to begin backing up.
- Finally, when your backup has finished in the mobile app, connect your Picture Keeper to your computer and open the app. Look for a button at the top that says Start Mobile Backup, click it, and wait for the backup to finish.
