This guide will show you how to reset your Picture Keeper. A reset erases files from your Picture Keeper drive only — it never erases the files on your computer. Even so, make sure anything you want to keep has another copy stored somewhere else before you start. When you’re ready, connect your Picture Keeper, open the app, and follow the steps below:
- Click the gear icon
in the top right corner:
- Click Reset Picture Keeper in the drop-down menu:
- Choose what you would like to erase. Only this computer’s backup erases just the files backed up from the computer you are using, and leaves the backups from your other computers and phones on the drive. Everything on this drive erases every file backed up from every computer and phone, so the drive is like new:
- If this drive is part of a backup that spans more than one Picture Keeper drive, you are also asked about your other drives. Choose Yes, reset only this drive, not the others to leave them alone — your next backup will skip files that are already on them. Choose No, start this computer’s backup over to begin again — your next backup will copy everything from this computer to this drive. You will not be asked this if the drive is not part of a multi-drive backup.
- Type RESET into the box, then click Reset. A progress bar shows the files being erased.
- When the reset finishes, a confirmation appears at the bottom of the window:
