The Photo Scanner uses the camera on your iPhone or iPad to scan physical photos onto your phone, minimizing glare to improve the quality beyond what the camera can do normally. This guide will show you how to use the Photo Scanner. First, connect your Picture Keeper to your iOS or Android device, then follow the steps below:
- Open the PK Connect app
- Tap Camera at the bottom:
- From the Camera Options screen, tap Get Started under Photo Scanner:
- Move your phone to line up the camera with the photos you're scanning until the blue box encompasses the entire photo, and then tap the white button at the bottom to take the picture (it's okay if the blue boxes doesn't line up exactly - you can correct that in the next step):
- Drag any misaligned corners to line up the edges with the actual edges of the photos. Tap Continue when you're done:
- Tap the Tools button at the top right if you'd like to further edit your photos, or tap Save at the bottom to save the photos to your Picture Keeper:
Lastly, here are some general scanning tips:
- Don't scan too many photos at once. 10 is the maximum allowed.
- Hold phone still while capturing the photo.
- If you want to improve resolution, take fewer photos at once.
- Avoid glare from lights reflecting on photos.
- Very glossy or reflective materials might cause difficulty with scanning.
- Hold phone flat for best results.
