Connecting your Google Photos account to your Picture Keeper within the app on Android, Mac, and Windows devices is quick and easy. This allows you to include these photos in your Picture Keeper backup, which can be especially beneficial for Android users, as it's not uncommon for Android phones to sync your pictures to Google Photos instead of storing them locally on the phone. Below, we'll go over the steps to connect your Google Photos account from within both the Android app, and the computer app. Before getting started, make sure your Picture Keeper app is up to date.
CONNECT TO GOOGLE PHOTOS IN THE ANDROID APP
- Connect your Picture Keeper Connect to your Android phone and open the app
- Tap Show Backup Options on the Home
screen
- Tap Connect to Google Photos at the bottom
- Tap Connect to Google Photos again
- Select the correct Google account from the list
- Follow any remaining prompts from Google to connect your account -- you should see your account listed at the bottom of the Backup Options screen once it's connected
CONNECT TO GOOGLE PHOTOS IN THE COMPUTER APP
- Connect your Picture Keeper Connect to your computer and open the app
- Click Search Options
on the left side of the Home
screen
- Scroll down on the left side of the "Where to Search" section and click Google Photos
- Click the Connect to Google Photos button on the right
- This will take you to a Google webpage -- select the correct Google account from the list
- If prompted, enter your Google password and click Next -- if not, skip to step 9
- After you click Next, you may see a prompt to open a Google app on another device to confirm it's actually you attempting to sign in -- if not, skip to step 9
- Follow the instructions to open the Google app on your other device, tap Yes, it's me to proceed with signing in, and you should then see your computer screen change in your web browser
- Click Continue
- Check the box next to "View your Google Photos library" and then click Continue at the bottom
- If prompted to open the Picture Keeper app, do so to return to the app and finish the process
- Select Default Settings to back up your entire Google Photos library, or select Advanced Settings to choose specific files or albums to include in your backup, and then click Save
- The Search Options screen should now show that you're signed in to your Google Photos account -- just click Save Settings
